Know, Understand and Choose WineHe develops exchange and partnerships, moves them forward and adds value to every equation between the key players in the wine business and his clients. He places his wine knowledge and experience at the service of challenging situations which involve quality, cost, marketing and logistics. In the scope of his consulting, he works on developing wine lists for the restaurant business and wine selections for commercial sites.
Working with the leaders in the world of wine, he also contributes to preparing materials for training trainers and creates content for teaching in the fields of wine-tasting, food and wine pairings and the evolutions in wines.
He also consults on wine-tasting, providing leading-edge opinion and sensorial analysis of wine, of the evolution from one vintage to the other – the potential, the suitability for clienteles’ expectations. Wine-tasting services can be done blind or in context, working with the vintner to take into consideration his or her global approach (development in the vineyard, in the appellation, land and cost constraints …).
Promotion and sponsorshipMany quality approaches require backing and support to make themselves heard. Olivier Poussier lends his expertise and his name in the gastronomic field to such initiatives. His title as Meilleur sommelier du monde 2000 (World’s Best Sommelier 2000) acknowledges his expertise, lending power to his support of a vintage year, a range or wines or professional material.
Olivier Poussier also consults on quality marketing concepts and outreach one example of which is the “Beer Culture” project on the theme of “promoting beer with food”.
