| On a parallel, I would bet on the incredible progress consumers have been making in the past couple of years. Consumers are not sheep, who just look at scores, unaware of the debate going on and deprived of all capacity to taste and reach their own personal opinion. Consumers seek to acquire true knowledge about wine, even if the subject is complex. Proof of this can be seen in their interest and great awareness of highly complex high-tech products. Wine can be similar, and here too, complexity does not stop the consumer, on the contrary it sharpens their curiosity. Today, and more so tomorrow, knowledge of a complex subject will be a distinctive, and a distinguishing factor. I run into great curiosity from the consumer every day. Furthermore, in my opinion, these two worlds can live together. And I think we can draw a lesson from the American qualities of dynamism, energy, belief in enterprise and wide open vision. Here too, open-mindedness and interest in the other can only be factors of progress.
